It is Friday 20th February 1998. I have just completed the first week of a four week course aimed at people with chronic pain with a view to help them get on with their lives - even though they still have pain.
This course is run at the Auckland Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. It is a four week course with three follow ups at 1 month 3 months and 12 months down the track. We are required to show up at 8 o'clock every morning ( Monday to Friday ) and are let loose at 3 o'clock in the afternoon ( Midday Friday ).
During this program we receive lots of useful information as well as doing practical stuff.
Info like - What is Chronic Pain and How does the nervous system work ( fundamentals )
The practical stuff is in the form of exercise and relaxation techniques.

As I am not a pain management professional - I am uncomfortable with publishing any 'facts' or theories. Perhaps I can get our team to write some articles for me and I will post those. What I can do is share some of the inspirations that come from the group its self .
After my course - I went surfing and lo and behold there is a bundle of resources to do with chronic pain on the web. Not least of which is a support forum of people with different Chronic Pain Syndromes ...
Check this one out Chronic Pain Information Network
I asked the people that I met in this forum to give me inspirations - so I might share them with you. This goes a long way to show that many different people have one Chronic Pain problem or another, we don't necessarily look sick and we can be of any race, creed or culture.
Here are some works and profiles from my new friends on the net ...
