Inspirations from Gordon

During our relaxation sessions - I walked into a metaphorical brick wall whilst practising a visualisation. Kate suggested that I invisage a glove that I could put on when things were going haywire.  I took up the challenge and actually drew my glove so that I could fix it in my mind by looking at it ... here is my glove.

The inspirational piece that I presented to the group on the final day of the course is taken from different parts of my life.  The background picture is a composite of photographs that I took of a Lanner Falcon called Aime when I was in England. She is a symbol of freedom in this piece.

As it is coming up for our Passover festival I have taken a line from the Haggadah : It means Once we were slaves, now we are free.  This sentiment is profound - as I take the meaning both as a people and personally and then gave it to the group.

As a people - we were slaves unto the pharoh of Egypt and by the mercy and the actions of God we were set free from bondage.

Personally - I started the Pain Management Program with the attitude of a slave. A slave to my pain. It directed most of my thoughts and feelings.

Now as I give this piece to the group, I can see that the pain is a feature of my life and not my master.
